On May 1, the Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) hosted a dinner reception to honor former Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX/32nd) for his outstanding service as Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus on U.S.-Turkey Relations and Turkish Americans (Turkey Caucus) in TCA's headquarters in Washington, D.C. Congressman Sessions was an ardent supporter of a robust U.S.-Turkey relationship and a voice on Capitol Hill for Turkish Americans.
In his welcoming remarks, Dr. Yalcin Ayasli, Founder and Chairman of TCA, expressed deepest appreciation and gratitude for the Congressman’s leadership in advocating a strong U.S.-Turkey relationship. Additionally, Dr. Ayasli highlighted the special friendship between Turkey and the United States and the importance of maintaining a dialogue during difficult times.
Congressman Steve Chabot (R-OH/1st), one of the current Co-Chairs of the Turkey Caucus, and Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC/5th), a former Caucus Co-Chair, addressed the participants and thanked Congressman Sessions for his distinguished service, leadership, and friendship in Congress.
Former Congressman Randy Forbes (R-VA/4th), officials from the Turkish Embassy in Washington, D.C., and representatives of the Turkish American organizations, including the American Turkish Association of Washington, D.C. (ATA-DC), the Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA), Turkish American Steering Committee (TASC), Turkish Heritage Organization (THO), and other guests also attended the dinner reception.
