Under the 10,000 Turks Campaign, the Turkish American community has expanded its outreach in the political arena by increasing its support for the five Turkish American political action committees (PACs): the Turkish Coalition USA PAC (TC-USA PAC), TC-Northeast PAC, TC-Midwest PAC, TC- California PAC, and the Turkish PAC in Houston. The five PACs have contributed over $510,000 to both Democrats and Republicans during the current 2015-2016 election cycle. This is an exciting new milestone, which breaks the previous record of $375,190 in contributions during the 2013-2014 Election Cycle. An important note is that nearly 24% of the candidates supported by the five PACs are women, a number higher than the percentage of women currently serving in Congress. Women only constitute 19.7% of members in the 114th Congress.*
