April 23, 2020 marks the 100th year anniversary of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, this brave assembly led the Turkish war of independence with great sacrifices under the near impossible circumstances leading to the establishment of modern Turkish Republic from the ashes of the Ottoman Empire.
TCA would like to extend its formal gratitude to Representatives Steve Cohen (D-TN/9th) and Virginia Foxx (R-NC/5th) for introducing and co-sponsoring House Resolution 931 - Congratulating the people of the Republic of Turkey and Turkish Americans nationwide on Turkish National Sovereignty and Children's Day. TCA fully supports this bi-partisan outreach to our community by these members of the Congressional Caucus on U.S.-Turkey Relations and Turkish Americans.
TCA will also be participating in the Ataturk Society of America's 100th Year Anniversary Virtual Celebration on Sunday, April 26th. TCA's Chairman and Founder Dr. Yalcin Ayasli will be a keynote speaker and recipient of the organization's Ataturk Distinguished Humanitarian Award.
