Turkish Coalition of America is accepting applications for its 2012 TCAdvance Scholarship Program.
The TCAdvance Scholarship Program was established in 2007 to support American students of Turkish and Turkic heritage who pursue a career in public and international affairs, law, communications and public relations. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, civic engagement, particularly active participation in Turkish American community affairs, as well as individual leadership qualities. Since the program's inception, 60 Turkish American students have been awarded the TCAdvance scholarship.
In 2011, TCA designated a TCAdvance scholarship in honor of the legendary West Virginia Senator, Robert C. Byrd. The Memorial Scholarship is awarded to outstanding Turkish Americans from the 13 Appalachian states to pay tribute to Senator Byrd who championed civil service and strong U.S.-Turkish relations throughout his life-long career.
The application deadline for the TCAdvance Scholarship is Friday, June 15, 2012. The scholarship recipients will be announced in July and scholarships will be awarded in Washington, DC in October 2012.
