In 2014, TCA awarded its fourth annual Turkey Study Tour Grant to four universities for a total of $23,500. In total, 47 students from across the nation participated in these faculty-led study tours and learned about Turkey through disciplines including literature, media, and business.
The TCA Study Tour Grant program provides an incentive to American institutions of higher education to choose Turkey as their study abroad destination. TCA's grants are designed to support study tours by decreasing costs for students and increasing participation in programs in Turkey.
The Community College of Philadelphia received a grant of $3,000 for a 10-day trip in May that brought 6 students to Turkey. Read more.
Georgia State University's Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) received a grant of $10,000 for its annual "Global Business and Media" tour in Istanbul, Turkey. 20 students participated in the 10-day trip. Read more.
Alfred University received a $2,500 grant for its "Istanbul 2014: Crossroads of Civilization" program to enable 5 students to travel to Istanbul for one month at the end of a semester-long course exploring Turkey's historic and contemporary significance. Read more.
SUNY Buffalo State was awarded an $8,000 to bring 16 students for a 4-week program in Turkey titled "Summer in Istanbul: Literature, Culture, and Mythology in Context." Read more.
