Washington, DC – On Wednesday, May 19, the Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) met with Turkish State Minister for Foreign Trade Zafer Caglayan to discuss TCA’s work in the United States, including TCA's outreach to Native American communities. TCA President Lincoln McCurdy briefed Minister Caglayan on the significant opportunities for Turkish businesses to invest in and do business with Native American tribes, assisting these communities' development needs while further strengthening economic ties between Turkey and the United States.
Minister Caglayan, speaking to the Turkish press later in the week, reiterated his government's commitment to increase trade ties between Turkey and the United States, highlighting TCA's outreach to the Native American community as a business and trade opportunity worthy of further exploration.
TCA’s interactions with the country’s Native American tribes has grown over the last few years, with a highlight being the recent appointment by the Hopi Tribe of its first Honorary Representative to Turkey.
