Turkish Americans Meet with Congresswoman Lois Frankel

On May 8th, the Turkish American community in southern Florida met with Congresswoman Lois Frankel (D-FL/21st) in West Palm Beach, FL to discuss U.S.-Turkey relations and issues important to Turkish Americans. TCA Project Coordinator Liz Clark represented TCA at the meeting.
TCA Creates Turkish American Women's Leadership Initiative

TCA* has created the Turkish American Women's Leadership Initiative to work with local Turkish American organizations and women’s groups in an effort to educate and encourage Turkish American women to run for elected office on the local, state, and federal levels; seek positions on governmental commissions; attend political conventions, meetings, and forums; and actively participate in political parties.
TCA Meets with CHP Vice Chair Ozturk Yilmaz

Republican People’s Party (CHP) Vice Chair Ozturk Yilmaz and CHP’s US Representative Yurter Ozcan met with TCA President G. Lincoln McCurdy and TCA Project Coordinators Liz Clark and Sezan McDaniel at TCA headquarters to discuss U.S.-Turkey relations and Turkish Americans.
TCA President Attends Turkish Philanthropy Funds Summit 

On May 30th, TCA President G. Lincoln McCurdy attended Turkish Philanthropy Funds’ Entrepreneurship + Innovation Summit at NASDAQ Headquarters in New York. The summit explored the essential role that entrepreneurship plays in social and economic development of our society and in creating innovative change. Hamdi Ulukaya, Founder and CEO of Chobani, and Muhtar Kent, Chairman of the Board of The Coca Cola Company, delivered keynote speeches at the event.
TCA President Attends American Turkish Society 2017 Gala

On May 31st, TCA President G. Lincoln McCurdy attended the American Turkish Society’s 2017 Gala in New York. The gala celebrated the outstanding achievements of Nevzat Aydýn, Co-Founder and CEO of Yemeksepeti, and Dr. Tamer Seçkin, Medical Director of Seçkin Endometriosis Care & Surgery and Founder of the Endometriosis Foundation of America. Dr. Mehmet Oz served as Gala Chair for the evening.
TCA Visits Turkish Americans in Chicago

TCA President G. Lincoln McCurdy and Project Coordinator Liz Clark traveled to Chicago to meet with Turkish Americans and discuss U.S.-Turkey relations and the importance of civic and political activism. They also had meetings with Chicago Turkish Consul General Umut Acar as well as Orhan Ulger, President of the Turkish American Cultural Alliance in Chicago.
German Marshall Fund Ankara Director Visits TCA

Ozgur Unluhisarcikli, Director of the German Marshall Fund of the United States’ Ankara Office, visited TCA headquarters on May 10th for a meeting with TCA President G. Lincoln McCurdy and TCA staff. At the meeting they discussed U.S.-Turkey relations and TCA programs and activities.
